The Health & Safety Executive publish a guide for Asbestos Surveyors and those managing asbestos in non domestic properties : Asbestos: The survey guide (HSG264)

Within this guide the HSE state that ‘The HSE strongly recommends the use of accredited surveyors for asbestos surveys. The dutyholder should not appoint or instruct an independent surveyor to carry out a survey unless the surveyor is competent’

In addition to our UKAS Accreditation for asbestos surveys, we also hold Professional Indemnity Insurance – which includes bodily injury cover.

If you are considering the appointment of an asbestos surveyor, ensure that they are UKAS Accredited (i.e. a UKAS Accredited Inspection Body) and that they have the necessary insurance to cover you if things go wrong!
