Barry Scott BSc. (Hons) – Managing Director
Barry left the Moray Council in 2004 with a P402 in asbestos surveying and P405 in asbestos management, having worked as a Quantity Surveyor and subsequently Maintenance Surveyor for the authority since leaving university. Barry always had an interest in tools and equipment and sold hand and power tools online since 1999 through www.tool-up.co.uk (hence the Tool-Up in Tool-Up Asbestos Solutions Ltd). Barry spends most of his time pricing asbestos removal and survey works as well as undertaking the odd asbestos survey.

Chris Carvey – Area Manager
Chris joined Tool-Up in 2010 having previously worked as an analyst and surveyor with RPS Consultants for many years. Chris has undertaken his BOSIET which enables him to undertake surveys of offshore installations. Chris manages the removal and survey contracts in the Aberdeen area and also undertakes Asbestos Awareness Training for new Tool-Up employees and also externally on behalf of our clients. When he gets time, Chris is developing the material required for Tool-Up to become a UKATA member.

Izzi MacIver - Senior Surveyor
Izzi studied and worked in Environmental Science and Health and Safety before starting work for Ethos Environmental as an asbestos surveyor and analyst in 2004. She continued with this role for RPS Consultants before moving to Tool-Up Asbestos Solutions in 2008. One of her first tasks with Tool-Up was to work towards achieving UKAS accreditation, this was granted in February 2009. Izzi is currently our Quality Manager and ensures compliance with both UKAS and ISO9001.

Chris Wallis – Contracts Manager
Chris has worked with Barry since 2004 and is well known throughout the industry. Having worked in the asbestos industry throughout Scotland for over 20 years, Chris has probably removed asbestos from every conceivable location in every type of property. Don’t be put off by his tattoos and shaved head, Chris is affectionately referred to as ‘Scary but Nice’.

Scott Ewen – Supervisor
Scott has worked with Tool-Up for several years but had a brief spell when he left to run an asbestos removal company for a local engineers. Scott, like Chris, has worked in the industry for many years. When Scott isn’t wearing a suit and mask he can be found racing his dog team around a wood near you!

Christopher Wallis (Jnr) – Trainee Supervisor
Set on following in his dads footsteps, Christopher joined Tool-Up from school back in 2007. Probably one of the youngest to pass the ARCA New Asbestos Operative Course, he had to wait until his 18th Birthday before we would let him near an asbestos enclosure. In 2010 Christopher passed his ARCA New Supervisor Course and is currently getting a grounding at running his own textured coating removal jobs before gaining the experience to run his own notifiable jobs.

Anne Oliver - Accounts Manager
Anne has worked in the asbestos industry since 1995 and has been with Tool-Up Asbestos Solutions since 2006. Anne looks after the purchase and sales ledger and ensures everyone pays their bills on time.
